About the Founder

I earned the nickname "Birdie" early in life, as I would quietly look up from my crib like a little bird sitting in a nest. That image has stayed with me throughout my journey—and it perfectly captures what Rookery Home is all about: creating beautiful, cozy nests where people can find comfort and peace.

From Nurse to Nest Builder A Connecticut native now living in Southwest Florida, I've been a comfort and textile connoisseur throughout my life. I could always be found buying, gifting, admiring, and touching any soft items within my radius. Friends and family regularly sought me out for advice on gift choices, and my tastes became more refined over the years.

After enjoying more than thirty years working as a nurse, I understood deeply that after a stressful, demanding shift, the very best remedy is to go home to a cozy nest to recharge. This experience taught me the profound importance of creating spaces that truly nurture and restore us.

The Birth of Rookery Home My nursing career showed me how essential comfort and healing environments are to our well-being. Combined with my lifelong passion for beautiful textiles, this led me to found Rookery Home—a place where I could share my love for handcrafted comfort while supporting the artisans who create these treasures.

Our Mission I personally curate each collection, working directly with skilled artisans and small international businesses who share our values of authentic craftsmanship, fair trade, and environmental responsibility.
