Care Instructions for Natural Textiles
General Guidelines:
- For lasting quality and to ensure optimal performance, make sure to wash your natural textiles before their first use. This helps to prepare the fibers.
- Always use cold or warm water and select a delicate cycle to protect the integrity of the fabric.
- To prevent snags and damage during washing, keep items with zippers, buttons, or any sharp objects separate.
- When spills happen, gently blot stains rather than rubbing, which can push the stain deeper. Before using any stain remover, it's always a good idea to spot test an inconspicuous area first.
- Avoid harsh detergents and bleach, as these can strip natural fibers of their softness and vibrancy.
- For a natural and eco-friendly way to soften your textiles and reduce static, use wool dryer balls instead of chemical fabric softeners. This also helps to maintain the absorbency of your handmade items.
- For best results and to prevent shrinking or damage to the fibers, hang dry your items or tumble dry on a low heat setting. High heat can be detrimental to natural textiles.
- It's normal to experience some shedding and pilling initially with natural fibers; rest assured, this will decrease significantly with continued use and proper care.
Product-Specific Care:
- For Turkish Towels, we recommend soaking them overnight in cold water before their first use. This traditional method significantly boosts their natural softness and absorbency, enhancing your bathing experience.
- To best care for your Luxury Robes & Apparel, hand wash them or use a garment bag when machine washing on a delicate cycle. Always hang to dry to preserve their luxurious feel and shape.
- Woven Blankets & Throws should be washed on a delicate cycle. You can either hang them to dry or tumble dry on a low setting, ensuring they remain cozy and beautiful.
- When it comes to Tassels & Threads, if you notice any loose tassels, simply twist and knot them back into place. For loose threads, always trim them carefully; never pull them, as this can unravel the fabric.
- For your unique Block Printed Items, hand washing or using a cold delicate cycle with a mild detergent is ideal. To prevent any color bleed and keep the vibrant patterns crisp, add ½ cup of white vinegar or a color keeper to the wash. Always hang these delicate items to dry.
- Remember, natural fabrics, especially linen, tend to produce more lint than synthetics. We suggest washing these items separately for their initial washes to avoid lint transfer.
